FAQ / Our Policies

In this section of our site you can find answers to frequently asked questions and check out our store policies.  If you have any questions that are not answered below, drop us a quick e-mail.  We'll get back to you right away.

We've tried our best to compile the sort of information that you might find helpful.  If you have suggestions or comments about our online store, please contact us anytime.  Our goal is to make this website as user friendly as possible.

So go ahead...tell us what you think.  Thanks!!!

WHY DO YOU OFFER FREE SHIPPING FOR ALL OF YOUR PRODUCTS?

We realize that many online merchants promote artificially low pricing.  These ploys often involve low pricing in conjunction with inflated shipping costs...the end result is that the customer pays more than they should.   Unfortunately, it's easy to be fooled.

Another common practice requires customers to select items and go through several stages of the checkout process before they can find out about the high shipping being charged.  Many times frustrated customers just give in and complete their orders.

When furniture or large items are shipped, many companies post a shipping or freight charge and then come back for an additional "oversize fee" on top of the item price and already inflated shipping rates.  Customers may still think that they're getting a good price, or they may know better...in either case, they pay too much.

When you shop our online store you can see the price of each item as you browse the site.  That price is exactly what you will be charged at the checkout.  That means no shipping charges, no handling charges, no oversize charges, etc, etc, etc.

WHEN WILL YOU SHIP MY ORDER?

In-stock items are ready for immediate shipment.  We ship via UPS in most cases and generally have very few delivery problems.  Sometimes we send out part of an order separately, but rest assured that you will receive everything that you ordered!!!  You can always e-mail us for an update if you like...we're OK with that.

As you know, many of our items are made to order.  Lead times will vary.  In the case of framed art we generally complete all orders within 2 weeks...exceptions are rare.   We stock all of the prints offered here in our online store, so we can usually get your order out the door in about a week.

Furniture items usually require two to three weeks to build.  Just for the record, this is an excellent lead time for custom made furniture.  Your furniture order will ship out as soon as production is complete.  Small items will arrive via UPS.  Larger items will be sent via freight to your home or office address only.  Freight items cannot be shipped to P.O. Box destinations...just letting you know.

HOW WILL I KNOW THAT MY ORDER HAS SHIPPED?

As part of the checkout process, we ask for your current e-mail address.  You will receive an immediate e-mail confirmation of your order as soon as your transaction is complete.  When your order ships out, you will receive another e-mail from us to alert you to your pending delivery.

DO I NEED TO BE AT HOME TO ACCEPT DELIVERY?

In most cases the answer is no...we use UPS for all small items.  If you have ordered an item being shipped by a freight carrier, you will be contacted prior to your delivery.  Someone must be present at the time of delivery to sign for the shipment.  The driver is not required to take your item inside (sometimes they will...if you're nice).  Be prepared to get your item inside.  If you think that you will need some help, make arrangements before your scheduled delivery...the drivers are only so nice.

WHAT IS GLAZING?

If you order a piece of framed art from us, it will come with professional grade acrylic to protect the art.  Quality glazing is required if you want your artwork to look good down the road...and who doesn't???  All artwork is framed to order in your choice of glazing.  We even give you 3 glazing options.  All glazing materials are described in detail in the More Info section of each individual art listing.

DO YOU USE FRAME SPACERS?

All of our framed art has either a mat or a frame spacer...this keeps the artwork from touching the glazing.  This is another standard practice in our gallery and our online store.  If you buy mass produced art or framed items online, be sure that you're getting quality...there are a lot of ways to make things cheap.  Our goal is to make things last.

WHAT KIND OF PRINTS DO YOU SELL?

We don't want to bore you to death with art lingo here, so we'll try to be brief.  (The key word is "try".  We sometimes bore people with this stuff even when we least expect it!!!)

Firstly, all of our prints are on heavy weight paper...not like the posters from Spencer Gifts or your local head shop.  We purchase all of our prints from reputable art dealers.  We buy either direct from the publishers or from wholesalers.  Every now and then we attend an auction for the purpose of buying prints in bulk (but rest assured, we stopped buying art from car trunks years ago...and yes, that's a joke).

Most of our prints are open editions...meaning that the print run is unlimited.  We also have prints that are limited editions, which in some cases are signed and numbered by the artist.  You may notice the word "giclee" in many of our listings.  These are digital prints made by a sophisticated ink-jet process...the benefits being more precise colors (due to smoother gradient transitions) and an increase in the image resolution.  Giclee prints are generally produced on heavy weight matte finish paper...but they can be made on canvas or other durable substrates.  In short, giclee prints are more expensive to produce than traditional 4 color offset lithographs.  They offer excellent clarity and exceptionally vivid colors.

HOW DO YOU OFFER QUALITY FRAMED ART AT DISCOUNT PRICES?

We make less money (you were probably expecting something more clever than that).

When it comes down to it...you can do something the right way or the wrong way.  We have no interest in shortchanging our customers by offering inferior product at discount prices.  That's not a good deal for you or for us.  We have a lot of repeat customers.  This is because we offer professional quality work...we either do it right or we don't do it at all.

As we mentioned above, we do have various sources for our prints and we like to buy in quantity.  We also work with numerous molding suppliers and make a habit of buying length molding that we keep in stock to produce our gallery pieces.  We do not buy our frames chopped and joined like many retailers.  All of our production is done in-house.

CAN YOU CUSTOM FRAME MY ITEM VIA THE INTERNET?

Yes and no.  Yes... we're happy to offer custom framing services to our online customers.  No...we can't do the actual framing without you sending us the item (if we could figure out how to do that we would be really really smart guys).  All in all though, it's a lot like coming into the gallery.

We will work with you on a custom design that enhances and preserves your art, your family photos, your memorabilia...you name it.  If you haven't done so already, take a look at the Professional Framing section here in our online store.  This will give you an idea of the scope of our in-house work.  We can frame just about anything, whether you come in personally or we work with you via phone or internet.

If you have a custom framing project and want to get started on it, just drop us a call or an e-mail.  We'll be happy to work with you...just check out our Customer Comments!!!

CAN I GET MY FURNITURE IN OAK OR CHERRY?

Yes.  Any furniture that you see listed in our online store can be made in a variety of select hardwoods, such as oak, cherry, etc.  Just drop us an e-mail for pricing or info on items that you are interested in.

DO YOU OFFER CUSTOM BUILT FURNITURE?

Why, yes we do!!!  (Thanks for asking.)   Again, just drop us an e-mail outlining what it is that you need built.  We'll go from there.  Please include a phone number where you can be reached...easy enough.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

Officially speaking, our Return Policy is simple...all sales are final.  Of course things are rarely simple, so our policy is pretty flexible.  We have the stated policy because we need to bottom line it when it comes to custom work.

If there is any sort of problem with your order, just send us a brief e-mail telling us what the issue is.  We'll work with you and do whatever we can to make you happy...but there are limits, you know.

Items that are built to order cannot be returned unless the item arrives damaged or we have made a mistake in production.  We pride ourselves in getting it right the first time, so you shouldn't worry about receiving the wrong item...or the right item in the wrong color, etc.  If that happens, we'll make it right...of course we allow returns in such cases.

IS IT SAFE TO USE MY CREDIT CARD?

We’ve taken several steps to ensure that your shopping experience is safe and secure.  All transactions here in our online store are processed via Authorize.Net, a highly respected payment gateway.  You can be confident that your personal information is secured at all points during the payment process by industry leading technologies...including 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

Authorize.Net is also fully compliant with current government and industry security initiatives.  We are pleased to offer these secure payment services, which rival current in-store check-out procedures.
