Contemporary artist Anna Jaap, has worked as a painter and printmaker since receiving her degree in Fine Arts in 1987. Since that time, she has developed her own unique style and twice overcome the possibility of blindness. Her situation did nothing to inhibit her creativity and seemed to only intensify her desire to produce beautiful works of art. She has had numerous solo exhibitions in our nation's capitol, as well as showings in New York, Chicago, Atlanta and the art infused city of Santa Fe.
Offered here is a terrific piece cleverly titled..."Afternoon of the Cake Plate Reunion." Jaap's unique style is evident here...as she shows her masterful use of heavy pigments. This high quality print is especially bold and vivid!!! The effect of this piece is immediate...and the saturated colors are striking and relaxing at the same time!!! Something that is not easily accomplished.
To frame this print...we went with a molding that really enhances the unique artwork. Random distressing on the frame is extensive and convincing. The character here is in some way reminiscent of the techniques used in the art and the feeling is very much like a Tuscan inspired finish you might see on high end furniture or custom cabinetry.
